Dr. Antonino Nicolò, a dental professional since 2006, started as a dental technician and later became the Southern Italy Sales Manager at Dental Club S.p.A. After graduating with honors in Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis in 2014, he began freelance work in family dental practices.
Committed to continuous growth, he actively participates in dental training and congresses, specializing in restorative and adhesive dentistry. Dr. Nicolò collaborates with Dr. Monaldo Saracinelli, gaining expertise and recognition as an international speaker and author of research papers.
Since 2014, he’s been an Active Member of ‘Style Italiano’ and holds memberships in esteemed academies. He teaches at the University of Siena and the University of Montpellier since 2017 and 2018, respectively. Currently, Dr. Nicolò leads cultural associations and serves on the national board of professional organizations.

clinical case
The patient visited the dental practice complaining of discomfort in tooth 46. Following an in-depth analysis, a large carious lesion was found on tooth 46, as well as another on premolar 45.This case study demonstrates the step-by-step procedure for direct restoration using myRing Forte in combination with myTines GO, Lumicontrast sectional matrices, and wooden wedges.

4: Preparing the cavity on M46 also revealed an extension of the carious lesion on premolar 45, on the distal side. As the injury was minor, we were able to take a minimally invasive approach, freehand reconstructing the affected area.

8: A Lumicontrast Sectional Matrix and a myRing Forte, fitted with myTines GO, were placed on Molar 46. The geometry of the myTines GO moves the contact point between the ring and the matrix away from the proximal area, thus facilitating restoration of the natural curvature of the contact point. Note that the wedge enters the proximal area in a ‘side-to-side’ motion, stabilising the ring.
9: Once the mesial surface of the molar had been restored, the myRing Forte was removed and the sectional matrix ‘opened’ to improve visibility. The occlusal area was then shaped.

conclusion
myTines GO provides an effective solution for restoring wide cavities, an area in which other rings tend to fail by crushing the matrix into the cavity. The round shape of the myTines GO means that the ring touches the adjacent teeth in four points far away from the interproximal area, allowing the restoration of the tooth’s natural, round anatomy.
